Phytochemical Analysis and Biological Screening of Leaf Extracts from Clutia myricoides

المستخلص : Basing on chemical and biological literature survey, this study is reported as a first which investigated Clutia myricoides (Soa'bor) where leaf material of this plant brought under quantitative and qualitative estimation for metallic elements and it was extracted with different solvents to detect phytochemical compositions, quantitative estimation revealed that whole carbohydrates represented 8.63 × 10-5 M of the total C. myricoides leaf components, paper chromatography isolation proved it contains 9 protein amino acids, namely: Ala, Val , Leu, Ile, Glu, Arg, Asp, Pro, and Trp. Descriptive analysis of secondary metabolism products in C. myricoides leaf showed the presence of anthraquinone and cardiac glycosides, saponins, anthraquinones, flavonoides, coumarins, condensed tannins, triterpenoids, steroids and alkaloids. In contrast the absence of essential oil and hydrolysable tannins. These phytochemical results of C. myricoides leaf were compared with other in leaf of Plectranthus tenuiflorus plant (Sharah) and Euryops arabicus plant (Soam).
